Hi, I’m the human behind Pup & Dragon Creations. The pup is Chloe, my opinionated maltipoo and constant companion. The dragon? That’s me—especially when I’m in creative mode.

For years, I worked a demanding desk job, juggling tasks and timelines with very little space for creativity. Around the same time I stepped away from a volunteer role I’d held for over a decade with a local drum corps, I suddenly found myself with the time—and the need—to pour that energy into something just for me. I needed something—anything—that let me decompress, get off the screen, and just make something with my hands.

I started tinkering with a Cricut and a laser engraver. Nothing fancy. Just little projects to quiet the noise. It wasn’t instant magic. I spent a solid year learning, messing up, sanding off mistakes, and wondering if it would ever amount to more than a side hobby.

But something clicked. The more I created, the more I wanted to share it. That spark grew with every new piece, and soon it was clear—this wasn’t just a hobby anymore. It was a way to connect, to play, and to spread a little happiness.

That creative energy runs deep in my family, too.

My dad and I talk woodworking like some people talk sports. He’s the kind of person who sees potential in every scrap of wood, and I definitely inherited that. My mom’s a sewing wizard with a fabric stash I’ve “borrowed” from more times than I can count. And Chloe… Chloe’s the heart of the shop. She’s part squirrel chaser, part nap champion, and always close by when I’m working.

Joy belongs in the everyday — and everyone’s invited.

Pup & Dragon is my way of sharing a little color, a little laughter, a whole lot of heart—and always, a spark of joy—with the world. If something I make brings a smile, then the magic’s working!
